How To Date a Feminist
By Samantha Ellis

A hilarious new spin on the Hollywood romcom featuring two proposals, two weddings, an elopement and a cast of unforgettable characters portrayed by our two actors.

Kate likes her men tall, dark and smouldering. She has a fatal attraction to bad men. Then she meets Steve…

Steve is a feminist.

Can Kate overcome her love of lipstick, cupcakes and Heathcliff? Can Steve forgo the ethical confetti and learn to be a little bit more ravishing in bed?

Can the two of them reinvent romance for the twenty-first century?

This play is brought to life by two actors multi-rolling all the parts. When we first read this play we immediately fell in love with it, as a modern-day romance story

Featuring: Craig Benson and Elizabeth Welch

Directed by: Mick McNeill

An amateur production by arrangement with Nick Hern Books

The Crew

What is fantastic about this production is that our whole backstage crew is run by the senior section of our youth theatre group. Our senior section contains children aged 12 - 18, who were offered the extracurricular opportunity to learn more about theatre in the round.

Our students were offered the opportunity to get hands-on experience on the production side of this play getting involved in everything from publicity to lights and sound. This has been a fantastic learning experience for each and every one of them to get to grips with a side of theatre beyond the performance, which not only will make them a better performer but also hopefully ignite a lifelong love and appreciation of all aspects of theatre.
